It's another day of deliberations for jurors deciding the fate of a former BP engineer who was charged with obstructing the government's probe into the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf.

The prosecution claims 52-year-old Kurt Mix of Katy, Texas deleted hundreds of text messages related to the spill.

Jurors have spent two days deliberating the case, and now they have told U.S, District Judge Stanwood Duval Jr. that they are "at a standstill".  They say they are having trouble reaching a verdict against Mix.

About an hour into continued deliberations Tuesday, they asked the judge to quit for the night and conintue today.

Mix is charged with two counts of obstruction of justice in the case.
