Lafayette Fire Department Spokesman Alton Trahan says that a home in the 100 block of Karen Drive was totally loss to a fire this morning.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire, but it did take firefighters about four hours to completely put out this blaze.

While the fire was brought under control in about twenty minutes, they did not want it to spread so they had to remain on scene to make sure it was out.

This home, located at 114 Karen Drive, was an unoccupied residence.

Trahan says they are still investigating to find out what caused this fire.
