This Is Why Presidential Debate Star Ken Bone Wore That Red Sweater
Ken Bone has been heralded as the real winner in the second presidential debate, but how did this seemingly common man become an instant American icon?
Bone was amongst the undecided voters seated on stage at Sunday night's presidential debate, but it was hard to miss him in the bright red sweater he chose to wear that night. As a matter of fact, Bone appeared on CNN the morning after the debate in the same sweater and explained his fashion choice.
I had a really nice olive suit, and my mother would have been very proud to see me wearing on television, but apparently I have gained about 30 pounds. And when I went to get in my car the morning of the debate I split the seat of my pants all the way open. So the red sweater is plan B. I’m glad it worked out.
He is excited about his new Twitter followers, though.
I went from last night having seven Twitter followers, two of which were my grandmother, because she had to remake her account when she forgot her password. Now I have several hundred.
Bone was an instant hit on the web, soon becoming the top trend on Twitter—even above Trump and Clinton. Someone even created a @TheKenBone account dropping someone of the funniest Ken Bone memes.
Even with his newfound fame and a front row seat at the debate, Bone says he is "more undecided than ever."
I was leaning very heavily towards Donald Trump but Secretary Clinton impressed me with her composure and with a lot of her answers. So now I think I’m just going to wait for the last political debate and in this cycle you never know what could happen.
To quote one Twitter user: "Why is Ken Bone asking the questions, when he is clearly the answer?"
Exactly.
