The Lafayette Regional Airport has been named the Louisiana Airport of the Year. This marks the second time since 2005 the airport has received the award from the F-A-A. Security, customer convenience, and airport growth were all cited as reasons for the award. Airport Commission Chairman Paul Guilbeau says his staff is grateful for the award and says their goal has always been to make the parking lot to boarding gate experience something passengers enjoy.
