Lafayette Businesses Checked For Underaged Sales

Last night the Lafayette Police Department's Youth Services Section executed an underage alcohol buy operation, and only four businesses sold to a person under the age of twenty-one.

An employee at Wal-mart on the Thurway, Acadian Superette on Lamar Street, Walgreen's on Johnston Street and Chevron on Betrand each were issued a summons for 'sales to persons under twenty-one'.

An undercover person under 21 went into twenty-nine businesses to try to get them to sell them alcohol.  There were multiple businesses that did not sell to the person under twenty-one.  They are as follows:

12. Cracker Barrel at 724 Eraste Landry
13. Hub City Grocery at 300 Pershing
14. Darby’s Grocery at 207 Sixteenth
15. Al’s Grocery at 318 Fourteenth
16. Smoke-N-Go at 4490-D Moss
17. CVS at 3754 Moss
18. Walgreens at 3747 Moss
19. Piggly Wiggly at 3826 Moss
