Lafayette Pedestrian Fatality Identified

Lafayette City Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed about 5:45 this morning as 56 year old Vivian Sue Travis of Lafayette. Police investigators believe Travis was attempting to cross the South West Evangeline Thruway near Garber Road when she was struck by the passenger side mirror on a Chevy Silverado traveling south.

Travis was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been filed but the investigation by the Lafayette Police Department continues.
