A Lafayette Parish schools cell phone policy that's resulted in the confiscation of hundreds of the devices is being altered.

By a vote of five to three last night, the school board voted to revise its zero-tolerance policy where cell phones were confiscated for the entire school year upon a first-offense.  That's now changed to five days for a first-offense, 30 days for a second-offense and the balance of the school year on a third-offense.
