Lafayette Teacher Blaine Peltier Arrested On Charges Of Sexual Conduct Between An Educator And Student

The Lafayette Police Department announced today that a Lafayette Parish school teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual conduct between an educator and a student.

Yesterday around 8:45 in the morning, Lafayette Police were called to the school board office regarding allegations of sexual misconduct by a teacher employed with the school system.

Investigators say they discovered that 30-year-old Blaine Peltier of Lafayette had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.  Police say the relationship happened between March and July of this year.

Police says he teaches at a high school within Lafayette Parish, and they say that the victim attends school at the same location.  They say the case remains under investigation.
