Lafayette’s Festival International Is Looking For Volunteers
This year's Festival International is set to start in just over four weeks, and the world music festival is gearing up for another great year of international musicians, local talent, food and crafts. This year's festival will features six stages April 25th through the 29th in Downtown Lafayette. Monica Hebert with the festival joined "Mornings With Ken and Bernie" today to talk about their need for sponsors, volunteers and folks to buy a festival pin to support the festival. Each year dozens of musical performers from across the globe perform on multiple stages downtown, and all of the performances are free to the public with the sale of festival poster, pins and t-shirts.
Hebert says they "are looking for more than 2.000 volunteers.....I know it's amazing that it takes so many people to volunteer to make the festival happen." She says volunteers get to enjoy the dancers, musicians along with other performers up close and personal along with helping the community celebrate music from around the world.
