NEW ORLEANS (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mary L. Landrieu will take a tour at the Port of New Orleans on Tuesday to look over improvements to the Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal.

Landrieu, D-La., will tour the facility and hold a news conference afterward about 10:15 a.m., according to a news release from her office.

Improvements at the terminal have been partially funded by a $16.7 million TIGER Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

In the funding bill for FY2014, Landrieu worked to secure $100 million for Port Security Grants. The Port of New Orleans has received funds from this grant in past years, receiving $16 million for various improvement projects from FY2008 to FY2011.
