Last Gate To Close On Morganza Spillway

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says new forecasts from the National Weather Service indicate that flooding occuring now on the Missouri River will not result in flooding on the lower Mississippi
River. The Corps is closing the last gate on the Morganza Spillway, and will soon begin closing the Bonnet Carre Spillway--just upriver from New Orleans.
