Yesterday Rep. Jeff Arnold's bill intended to regulate red-light cameras and speed cameras was defeated by an 8-7 vote in committee.  Today he is introducing legislation that will let the issue be voted on by individual communities. Arnold said his bill would "let the people decide if they want to give up their right to due-process by letting these civil actions continue".   He said it is a fallacy that the tickets issued by these cameras don't add to insurance costs because insurance companies examine tickets issued to determine rates for a given community.  Rep. Arnold went on to say that he opposes the use of the cameras because of the "Big Brother" aspect of the system.
