Representatives of Louisiana seafood will be in Washington, D.C. this week to meet with the state's delegation to discuss the industries recovery from the BP oil spill. In years past, the annual visit focused on Louisiana oysters, but given the impact of last year's oil spill, Louisiana's seafood experts say they will take along harvesters of all types of Gulf seafood.  Wednesday through Friday, seafood reps will meet with legislators and government agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration. Among other things, they want to ensure the continued government testing of Gulf seafood for safety.
