Louisiana Will Get a 2-Day Tax Holiday this Month!
We've missed out on a lot this year. Personally, my family had to forego our annual summer vacation, and a lot of my side work as an event DJ (weddings mostly, but I've done a few birthdays and even a couple of divorces) all but dried up and blew away. That's just the tip of the iceberg, and I (by far) didn't have it as bad as lots of folks in the Ark-La-Tex.
One of the holidays missed by parents was the tax-free holiday that a lot of us take advantage of while back-to-school shopping. In a shocking reversal of course, 2020 has steered this financial boon back around! According to KFLY, residents will have the opportunity to save later this month with a 2-day, tax-free holiday!
Mark your calendars for Nov. 20th and 21st! That's when the Sportsman's Paradise will suspend the 4.45% state sales tax on the first $2,500 of a purchase! Before you plan on saving some cash on a huge purchase, just note that this exemption does not apply to car, truck or other vehicle purchases - nor does it cover local sales tax.
That being said, it will cover most things on your Christmas shopping list and/or new dishes and kitchen accessories for your Thanksgiving celebration!
