A woman in Eunice, Louisiana was seriously injured Thursday morning after being shot.

KLFY News 10 reports that Eunice Police responded to a 911 call around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning about a woman being shot on Gaspard Street. Upon arrival, the officers found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound, while in a ditch.

EMS transported the woman to a hospital in Lafayette to be treated for serious injuries.

Eunice Police report that one male suspect is in custody, but his name has not yet been released.

Authorities are investigating the shooting and they are asking anyone with information in this case to contact the Eunice Police Dept. or St Landry Crime Stoppers.
