President Barack Obama addressed the country last night during his annual State of the Union address.

The President spoke about wanting to help average families get stronger.

He says suggested one way to do it would be to fund community college tuition for students.

Obama also says investing in ports, bridges, road and other infrastructure will help our growing economy stay strong.

Louisiana senators are weighing in on the speech.  Senior Senator David Vitter says,

“For me the highlight of today was having Steve Gleason here as my special guest and having important meetings regarding ALS issues. That topped the President’s speech in my world by far. President Obama’s speech didn’t address illegal immigration at all and didn’t own up to the failures of Obamacare or its burdens on small business. And to say that we’re winning the war against ISIS is completely out of touch with reality. The job of the new Republican Congress is to push real, specific solutions in a positive way.”

Newly elected Senator Bill Cassidy had this to say,

“President Obama’s speech didn’t address illegal immigration at all and didn’t own up to the failures of Obamacare or its burdens on small business. And to say that we’re winning the war against ISIS is completely out of touch with reality. The job of the new Republican Congress is to push real, specific solutions in a positive way.”
