There was a skateboarding accident on Sunday, and now an 18-year-old LSU student is on life support according to numerous media reports.

The young man, Gilgamesh Homan, was taken to the LSU infirmary after the incident and then he was transferred to an area hospital's emergency room.

Gil's father, Xavier professor Michael Homan, says that many steps were taken to try to halt the bleeding and swelling on Gil's brain, but nothing worked.

Michael Homan has said they will likely "say goodbye to him" on Wednesday.

As far as more details about how Homan fell off of his skateboard on Sunday, very few details are known at this time.

The young man was hit on the back of his head, and his father told Nola.com that they have spent a few days looking to help other people as Gil was an organ donor.
