Man booked in robbery, shooting death

BELLE ROSE, La. (AP) — Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack says detectives have arrested a 28-year-old Napoleonville man accused of shooting and killing a Thibodaux man last week during an armed robbery in Belle Rose.

Waguespack said in a news release received by The Advocate (http://bit.ly/VAawIY ) Harrison Truehill was booked Tuesday night with second-degree murder in the death of Tony Rodriguez Jr.

The sheriff said detectives had been searching for both Rodriguez and another victim of the armed robbery and shooting that occurred in an abandoned Belle Rose house that later was set on fire.

A body later identified as that of Rodriguez was spotted by fishermen late last week in the Rocky Canal on the west bank of Iberville Parish between Donaldsonville and White Castle
