A Hispanic male in his 40s or 50s was reportedly seen taking photos of women as they exited the Acadiana Mall.

A woman, whose identity we will protect, says that she and her daughter noticed a green minivan slowly approach them as they were walking towards their car in the mall parking lot.

Being aware of her surroundings, the woman looked over her shoulder and saw a man taking photos of her and her young daughter. She immediately got herself and her daughter into her car and drove away.

While parked elsewhere in the parking lot, she continued to observe this individual in the green van as he slowly drove around the mall parking lot.

The woman who took this photo says that she wanted to share her experience with others in hopes that they too would be aware of their surroundings.

Others say that they too have been approached in various parking lots around Lafayette by men, who were seen taking photos of them.

If this happens to you, try to get the vehicle's license plate and report it to local authorities. With that said, never put yourself in danger when trying to get information on the subject.

Remember, police often say to STAY OFF off of your phone while walking to your vehicle, it's a sign that your distracted and it may be an invitation for someone to approach you.

Stay alert. Stay safe.
