Carlee Alm-Labar joined us on day #3 of the KPEL Candidate Series for the closely-watched Mayor-President's race. She has a background in local government and served as Development Director under former Lafayette Mayor-President Joey Durel.

Her focus will apparently be on drainage, infrastructure, and jobs. But, she is the first candidate we have had in the studio who has talked specifically about bringing both sides of the political spectrum together in Lafayette Parish. She is running as a No Party candidate because she says it's critical to work for everyone.

If you talk about the positions and the things that I'm suggesting, you'll find that the issues I'm talking about are not Republican or Democrat. They're practical, problem-solving solutions based on fiscally conservative principles and the things that we, together as a community, look forward to do.

We asked specifically about business and the rush of new business that seems to have picked Youngsville over Lafayette. She says that the relationship should be more of a cooperative agreement instead of competition. You can listen to the full interview below:

The Mayor-President candidate series continues on Friday morning with Josh Guillory.
