McDonald’s to Sell Happy Meals for Adults
Well, lookie here, the iconic McDonald's Happy Meal is no longer just for kids.
(Although, we're looking at you 45-year-old dude who gets three of them because you're getting more bang for your buck all the while throwing away the toys without playing with them first.)
Starting on Monday, October 3rd, the fast food giant will be offering a Cactus Plant Flea Market Box, which includes either a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken McNuggets, along with fries and a drink.
Cactus Plant Flea Market is a streetwear brand that has been popularized by Kanye West and Pharrell in recent years.
“We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans,” said Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA chief marketing and customer experience officer in a release.
Oh, and there will be a treat in it for you. The adult Happy Meals will indeed include a toy -- redesigned figurines of McDonald's characters, including Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie, plus a new character named "Cactus Buddy."
For now, these new adult Happy Meals will only be available for a limited time while supplies last. But something tells us that if it does well, it could be a permanent thing.
While we contemplate that, the Cactus Plant Flea Market Boxes can be ordered in the restaurant, drive-thru or via the McDonald's app. There's no word yet on how much they will cost.
If you order on the McDonald's app, you will be entered into a sweepstakes to win custom Cactus Plant Flea Market merchandise featuring McDonald's, from shirts to a Grimace chair.
