Men of Texas: Give Her the Right Color Rose for Valentine’s Day
Can you feel it? It's in the air from Dalhart to Dallas and Port Arthur to the Texas Panhandle. It's either love or the flu. I think this week Texans might agree it's both. Have you seen the flu rates in Texas? Geez, wash your hands. And don't forget Valentine's Day is Friday. You don't want to be sick for that. And you don't want to make a rose-giving mistake that could leave you feeling ill either.
Dear Men of Texas, Valentine's Day is not Christmas.
In other words, you can't just rely on "it's the thought that counts". When it comes to Valentine's the thought, the intention, the hidden meanings all matter. And to make this an even more difficult chore, if you whiff on just one of those, thoughts, intention, or meaning, your plans for a romantic evening, and in the case of Valentine's this year, a romantic weekend could hit the kids fairly quickly.
I think that's the reason why so many men have an issue with Valentine's Day. There is truly only one correct "gift" and if you get that wrong, the day just won't go as planned. Fortunately, a lot of our "Valentines" understand that we fellows are not educated in the finer points of pitching woo.
So here is some helpful advice to at least help you out with your selection of roses. Apparently, a rose by any other name might smell just as sweet but if you give her the wrong color roses, you might be sending a message you didn't want to send or even worse, a message she didn't want to hear.
Did you know that each color rose symbolizes a different emotion, feeling, or message? Here's a handy guide that you can use when selecting your flowers for your sweetheart. Trust me, you don't want to send sympathy flowers when you meant to send romantic flowers. If you do, you'll be the one crying.
