Mexican Man To Be Sentenced Later This Year On Gun Charge

U.S. Attorney David Joseph announced that 36-year old Jose Molina of Veracruz, Mexico pleaded guilty last week to one count of Possessing a Firearm by an Illegal Alien.

The guilty plea resulted from Molina having been arrested in December by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office in response to shots being fired in Duson.

In another case, six illegal aliens from Mexico and Central American countries were arrested in Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff Davis parishes.

All six were charged through Louisiana’s Western District Federal Court System with Re-entering the United States after Having Been Removed, and all pleaded guilty.

Sentencing is set for later this year.
