Offense, offense, offense. Oh yeah, there was some solid pitching and defense for the Michigan Wolverines as well as they defeat the Vanderbilt Commodores in game one of the College World Series 7-4.

As mentioned to begin the article the Wolverines came out swinging against the Vandy starter Drake Fellows as they scored four runs over the first two innings of the ballgame.

The Commodores wouldn't go quietly as they would put up two runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a Ty Duvall RBI single and then Harrison Ray scored on a passed ball.

Vandy would inch closer in the 6th as JJ Bleday roped a solo home run off of Tommy Henry to make it 4-3.

However, that's as close as Vanderbilt would get as the Maize and Blue would tack on two runs in 7th and one in the 8th.

Michigan starter Tommy Henry was exceptional in this game following up his complete game shutout win against Florida State. Henry went 8.1 innings, allowed three earned runs on seven hits, struck out eight and walked only one.

It'll be freshman Kumar Rocker that'll try to extend the season for Vanderbilt and possibly the guy who closed out game one Jeff Criswell coming back to start game two tomorrow.
