A mother in Florida chased down her 13-year-old daughter's would-be kidnapper after he tried grabbing her inside a Dollar General store.

It was a literal "tug of war" as a mother chased down 30-year-old suspect Craig Bonello after he ran toward the exit with her daughter in his arms. After yanking back and forth, Bonello eventually let the girl go.

Surveillance video shows the entire struggle in a situation that police believe could have ended far worse.

She may have saved her daughter's life. I don't exactly know the motive but I'm sure it was not a good one.

After Bonello ran out of the store he ran smack into an off-duty sheriff's deputy who just happened to pull into the store parking lot.

The suspect, 30-year-old Craig Bonello, eventually let the girl go.

When he escaped the store, he ran right into an off-duty sheriff's deputy who happened to be pulling into the parking lot.

In my 10 years I have never seen an instance like this in broad daylight in a public area/would grab a girl like this.

The officer drew his weapon, ordering Bonello from his car where he surrendered and was taken into custody.
