Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Highway 443

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — A 22-year-old Walker man died in a SUV-motorcycle crash in Tangipahoa Parish.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. Monday on La. Highway 433.

State police say Christopher Kelley was southbound on his Yamaha motorcycle when an SUV driven by 49-year-old old Linda Atkins, of Hammond, turned left into the path of Kelley's bike.

Troopers say Kelley was taken to North Oaks Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Atkins was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of negligent homicide and failure to yield while turning left.

It was unclear whether Atkins has an attorney.
