Seven people were arrested today, accused of staging car crashes over a seven-year period.

Police are still looking for another person involved, Wardell Lockett. The arrests are the result of a year long investigation by State Police after they got a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Insurance. Authorities say the eight people targeted unsuspecting commercial truck operators starting in 2003 and running till last year. Most of the staged crashes happened on Highway 90 in Lafayette Parish. Detectives say the accused scammers were able to get over $400,000 after filing claims with insurance companies. They face anywhere from 5 to 20 years in prison. Here's a list of those arrested:
