Luckily we don't have to travel far to get to this gem.

I'm not sure how you can create a list of the best cities in America. Don't you think cities are like beauty? It's all in the eyes of the beholder, or in this case the traveler. For example, I love New York City and lived there for a season. My father can't stand that city and there's probably not enough money in the world to get him to move there.

That being said, there are cities that tend to stand out as favorites.

Travel and Leisure recently took inventory of which cities their readers love the most to determine the Top 15 Cities in the United States. These are cities that the publication believes "seduce us with their charisma and friendliness." Wow. Don't you wish someone would describe you like that?

It's definitely a perfect description for New Orleans, don't you think?

The Big Easy was named one of the best cities in the nation. In fact, it's number two on the list. NUMBER TWO. The only city to beat our New Orleans was Charleston, South Carolina.

Ok, but do they have beignets?
