NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police have charged a second suspect in the September slaying of an 18-year-old college freshman.

New Orleans police say in a news release that 26-year-old Myron Jackson was arrested Monday. He's suspected along with another man of shooting into the bedroom window of a home on Sept. 30.

Marguerite Washington was killed in the shooting. Her boyfriend, 19-year-old Justin Alexander, was wounded.

Police had already charged 21-year-old Jeffery Washington with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Jackson now faces the same charges. It was unclear whether Jackson has an attorney.

Police say the shooting occurred while the victims were asleep.
