GRAY, La. (AP) — Gov. Bobby Jindal joined officials of Standard Crane and Hoist in Gray to celebrate the opening of the company's $1.1 million plant.

Standard Crane and Hoist President Mac Hadden said operations at the 12,600-square-foot warehouse will employ 19 people with an average salary of $41,500 a year, plus benefits.

The new location is expected to reduce transportation costs for the company's Louisiana-based customers. The new facility in Gray was specifically designed for the specialized process of manufacturing overhead bridge cranes.
