If you are a parent, and you haven't spent the last 2 years well out of range of Amazon, YouTube, or the internet in general (possibly the moon?) - you are well aware of Baby Shark and his entire musical journey with his family.  In fact, if you have a child under the age of 5 - you may be too aware of this insidiously infectious ear-worm of a children's song.  If you have had trouble escaping this tune (impossible), I have some bad news for you and great news for your kids!

The kid-centric network Nickelodeon has reached an agreement with Pinkfong, the entertainment company behind Baby Shark, and parent company SmartStudy to bring a weekly show centered around the infant oceanic apex predator, his family, and the hundreds of spin-off characters the series has spawned.  USA Today reports that the decision makers at Nickelodeon were more than impressed with the fact that the original video quickly secured its place in the top 10 most viewed videos of all time with more than 2.8 billion views (and still climbing).  The song is so popular, it has spent 20 weeks as a Billboard top 100 song!  That's right, that little terrifying killer is rubbing elbows with Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish, and probably going to more A-list Hollywood parties than you and I could ever dream of!

No release date has been announced yet, but the network is already rushing its partners to get Pinkfong branded merchandise and toys into stores in a sure sign it won't be long!
