Louisiana's Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his reelection announcement and campaign, including second term plans to continue to grow Louisiana tourism.

Nungesser tells KEEL listeners about his recent installation as Chairman of National Lieutenant Governors Association. Nungesser says the appointment will allow him greater access to state governments across the country, letting him exchange ideas and plans with a number of tourism experts.

The Lieutenant Governor also highlights the recently passed Imported Seafood Resolution.to impose a $0.10 LB fee on foreign imported seafood producers to increase inspections and funding due to illegal substances found by FDA. This, Nungesser says, is designed to protect state fisherman and seafood producers.

Nungesser also explains his plans for the next four years, including a reorganization and increased marketing of the Louisiana's museums. "Maybe we need a board that focus on needs in different regions (of the state), including the ones under private - public partnership, to set up a grant program to help local museums that are struggling."
