Obamacare Repeal/Replace/Repair + Equal Pay Legislation – “Wingin’ It Wednesday”

1. Immigration Latest: The temporary travel ban that came out of an executive order by President Trump, which stops all entry to citizens of seven Muslim majority nations that are deemed high risk of terrorism, continues to be debated in federal court.

2. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos' Confirmation: The vote to confirm Betsy Devos as Education Secretary was a 50-50 tie. Two Republicans voted against her nomination, but Vice President Mike Pence was able to cast the decisive vote.

3. Obamacare Repeal/Replace/Repair? House Speaker Paul Ryan says legislation to repeal Obamacare will get done this year...but implementing that change may take more time. But House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says Democrats are going to work to preserve the Affordable Care Act.

4. Wage Gap: Equal Pay legislation has been filed in the upcoming legislative session by State Senator J P Morrell of New Orleans.
