UPDATE: Police have arrested 19-year-old David Harrington of Opelousas for the Tuesday night drive-by shooting that injured one person.

According to KATC TV-3, Harrington confessed to the crime but indicated his victim, Day'Jon Evans, robbed him of $50 earlier in the day.

Harrington is being charged with aggravated second degree battery, illegal use of weapons, and dangerous instrumentality.

The television station reported the victim will face charges as well.

Police are investigating a Tuesday night drive-by shooting in Opelousas, and according to KATC TV-3, it happened just as an anti-violence rally was starting less than a mile away.

The television station reported at that at least one shot was fired from a beige four-door Buick sedan as it passed a home in the 800 block of Park Avenue.

"The victim was struck once in the lower body," police Chief Perry Gallow told KATC. Gallow said the wound was not life threatening and a person of interest was being sought.

Nearby a "Take Back the Night" march and vigil was taking place at Opelousas Middle, TV-3 reported.
