OPELOUSAS, La. (KPEL) -- A school in Opelousas was placed on lockdown for about an hour Tuesday morning following a shooting near the campus.

According to Sgt. Jody White with the Opelousas Police Department, J.S. Clark Leadership Academy was placed on lockdown as a precaution. The school is now back to normal, and police continue to investigate.

"We did locate one suspect that we have in custody at this time," White said, "and we are presently looking for two more suspects."

White would not release the name of the suspect in custody, who has yet to be charged, he said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
