Payton: Saints Not Looking For “Drew Brees Clone”

Saints head coach Sean Payton was asked about the possibility of the team using the #27 overall pick to select Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. ESPN's Mike Triplett reports, coach Payton had high praise for the dual threat quarterback.

"There's not going to be another Drew Brees clone that we draft. One of our jobs is to look closely at what that player does best."  -Sean Payton

Jackson passed for 7,203 yards & 57 touchdowns in 2 seasons at Louisville. He added 3,702 rushing yards, and 39 TD's on the ground. ESPN's Todd McShay seems to feel Jackson will likely be the Saints' first round pick.
