Another march has been planned for this Saturday in Lafayette to protest police brutality.

Organizers of the June 6th event, titled "March to End White Silence & Police Brutality", say the march will begin at 10:00 am on Camelia Boulevard at the Lafayette Strong Pavillion next to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. They are asking participants to bring their own water, and everyone must be wearing a protective mask to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.  Parking is available at the church, but organizers are asking participants to please carpool or get dropped if possible.

The march is also hoping to raise awareness of the disproportionate incarceration rates in Louisiana. From the march event page on Facebook:

We will march peacefully down Camellia Blvd to protest police brutality, white silence, and call attention to Louisiana having one of the highest incarceration rates in the world that also disproportionately impacts black people.

We welcome people of all political parties, all races, creeds, genders, sexualities, and ages to join us. - March to End White Silence & Police Brutality, Facebook

If you have plans to be on Camelia Boulevard between Johnston Street and River Ranch on Saturday, please use extra caution as there will be heavy foot traffic in the area.
