ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Authorities say a Pineville woman is accused of forging 65 different checks from the account of her employer.

The Town Talk reports Emily Luckett Marcotte was arrested Friday by Rapides Parish sheriff's deputies after Alexandria police obtained a warrant for her arrest.

Police say Marcotte was employed by a local attorney's office, and the attorney told police that Marcotte had forged a number of different checks for her benefit.

Sgt. Lee Leach said it took authorities a while to locate Marcotte because she was attempting to hide from authorities.

It was not immediately known whether Marcotte has an attorney.
