Louisiana Ragin' Cajun forward JaKeenan Gant has played like a Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year candidate.

The senior from Springfield, Georgia helped Louisiana win games against South Alabama and Troy last week, averaging 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals in the two victories.

For his efforts, Gant was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the second time in the month of January.

This week, Gant shared the honor with South Alabama's Trhae Mitchell.

Gant and the Cajuns hit the road this week for a Thursday matchup at Appalachian State and a Saturday game in Myrtle Beach against Coastal Carolina.
