Another oft repeated term when referring to the latest Coronavirus statistics is "second wave." And across the country, some fear spikes in COVID-19 could threaten future job growth. But new unemployment claims last week were still down 79% below the Coronavirus pandemic peak. To put this all in context, and to look at numbers on a state-by-state basis, personal finance website WalletHub just released updated rankings for the States Whose Employment Claims are Recovering the Quickest.

To identify which states’ workforces are experiencing the quickest COVID 19 recovery, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia, comparing metrics based on changes in unemployment claims. Those metrics included comparing unemployment numbers from this time this year to last, changes in unemployment claims from the beginning of 2020 til now and changes in unemployment cases from the beginning of the pandemic compared to last year.
