(New Orleans, LA)  --  After considerable legal challenges to their operation, a court has given New Orleans the green light to resume operation of its system of red-light traffic cameras used to photograph the vehicle and license plate of driver's who don't stop when they are supposed to.

The cameras are now under the jurisdiction of the city's police department.  Authorities expect the cameras could boost city revenues by 18-million-dollars next year while making the city's intersections safer.
