New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas

The New Orleans Saints made a few roster moves on Friday, placing running back Pierre Thomas and defensive end Akiem Hicks on injured reserve, while signing rookie wide receiver Brandon Coleman and second-year linebacker Jerry Franklin from the practice squad.

The moves mean that Thomas and Hicks will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.

Of course, with the regular season finale coming up on Sunday, that means they'll only miss one game.

The 30-year-old Thomas, who has a shoulder injury, has 222 rushing yards, along with two touchdown runs, while compiling 45 catches for 378 yards and one score.

Thomas, an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in 2007, has played his entire eight-year career with the Saints, rushing for 3,745 yards and 28 touchdowns, while accumulating another 2,607 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

The 25-year old Hicks, who is suffering from an ankle injury, started 14 games this season, totaling 42 tackles and two sacks.
