The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a veteran defensive end.

The team has re-signed George Johnson to a one-year deal at the veteran minimum earlier this week.

The 30-year old Johnson, who went undrafted out of Rutgers in 2010, played in four games with the Detroit Lions last season, compiling two tackles, prior to signing with the Saints last December.

In three regular season games with New Orleans, Johnson had 2.5 sacks.

A native of Glassboro, New Jersey, Johnson's best season was in 2014 with the Lions, when he totaled 23 tackles and 6 sacks.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Johnson, who has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings, has accumulated 64 tackles, to go along with 8.5 sacks, over his 8 NFL seasons.
