Sam Houston State broke open a tie game with a four run fifth inning and the Bearkats rode the outburst to an 8-3 win over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Sunday in Huntsville, TX, salvaging the final game of the three game set.

Evan Guillory (0-1) was charged with the loss, allowing six earned runs in four innings. He left after three batters in the fifth inning without recording an out.

Louisiana (3-3) plated a pair of runs in the first inning on hits from Steven Sensley and Alex Pinero.  Sam Houston took the lead by scoring single runs in each of the first three innings.  Hunter Kasuls first homer of the year tied the game in the fifth but the Bearkats (3-4) broke the game open in the fifth.

Both teams had ten hits in the contest, marking the second straight game the Cajuns have had double digit hits.  Pinero, Ishmael Edwards and Handsome Monica had two hits apiece.

The Cajuns wrap up their season-opening road trip Tuesday night at Northwestern State.
