Downtown Lafayette will soon be getting a new place to grab a bite in the form of the new Spoonbill Watering Hole & Restaurant moving in to the old Filling Station location at 900 Jefferson Street.

KATC reports the new restaurant concept by Chef Jeremy Conner, Stephen Verret, and Adam Loftin, will open this fall.

Adam Loftin says the restaurant gets it's name Spoonbill from the Roseate Spoonbill, a bright pink bird with a spoon-shaped bill, which you can see featured in the restaurant's logo.

Chef Conner says the menu will offer a twist on what people think about seafood, and focus on the seafood being harvested out of the Gulf. Conner says his aim is to "focus on in-your-face flavor that diners can latch on to, and produce an experience that stays with them."
