St. Landry Parish Second In Narcotics Competition

Forty-two teams competed in a statewide narcotics competition, and St. Landry Parish came in second.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says Captain Lance Guidroz and his canine partner Dino got the chance to showcase their skills at the March 1 event.

Guidroz says that Guidroz and Dino were able to show off all their skills when it comes to finding narcotics,

The dogs and handlers also work at building skills at searches, apprehensions, tracking and trailing.

He says it reflects the many hours that the two work together, and how well Guidroz takes care of Dino.

The competition was co-hosted by Louisiana State Police and Dixon Correctional Institution.

Guidroz and Dino are always working, and Sheriff Guidroz says the two recently located eighty pounds of marijuana.
