St. Martinville Man Indicted On First-Degree Murder Charges

Prosecutors may seek the death penalty against a St. Martinville man indicted on charges of first-degree murder.

A St. Martin Parish grand jury indicted 21-year-old Joshue McKeel in connection with the shooting death of his pregnant 19-year-old girlfriend, Hannah Parker.

Assistant District Attorney Chester Cedars says the shooting happened at the St. Martinville home of Parker's mother. The two of them were living with her mother at the time, Cedars says.

Prosecutors will decide within the next 14 days whether or not to seek the death penalty, Cedars says.
