The following is a list of the people who were booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail for Monday, November 7, 2016:

Tommy J. McNally, 46, 1309 Middle Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 4, 2016 at 6:28 pm for the following offenses:

  • Operation of a clandestine laboratory within 1,000 feet of school property
  • Manufacturing Schedule II (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Warrant for theft of utility services and criminal damage to property

A deputy investigating a welfare concern complaint at the address listed above made contact with McNally and located the active warrant for his arrest. During the arrest, the deputy observed a suspected methamphetamine lab inside the residence and contacted detectives with the Narcotics Section. Narcotics detectives located 3 meth labs, several items used in making methamphetamine, and items of drug paraphernalia. The residence is located across the street from a school. The warrant for McNally’s arrests stems from an investigation into the theft of water utilities at the residence. The deputy found evidence that McNally cut and damaged padlocks in order to turn water service on after failing to pay the utility bill. McNally was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. Xtreme Cleaners, a crime scene clean-up and methamphetamine laboratory remediation company, was contacted to remove the meth labs and other precursors.

Frederick Mosely, Sr., 43, 120 Bernard Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 4, 2016 at 2:38 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of a motor vehicle and theft. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section located Mosely at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. Mosely was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Chastity Butler, 36, 1803 M. Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 4, 2016 at 3:55 pm on a warrant for disturbing the peace (loud music) and harassment. A deputy assigned to the Warrants Section located Butler at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. The warrant stems from a complaint of harassment that occurred at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista on September 3, 20, 16. The deputy collected evidence that Butler yelled and cursed at an employee and then proceeded to play loud music in the parking lot causing a disturbance. Butler was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

Brandon Fontenot, 19, 1620 Parlange Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on November 4, 2016 at 7:51 pm for traffic light violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy at the intersection of Southeast Boulevard and US Highway 90 observed a vehicle drive through a red light and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Fontenot. While speaking with him, the deputy learned that Fontenot had a pipe used to smoke marijuana inside the vehicle. Fontenot was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

James Bertrand, 56, 637 Bigler Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 4, 2016 at 10:47 pm for stop sign violation and driving with a suspended license. A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle drive through the stop sign at the intersection of Bollard Street and LA Highway 83 without stopping. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, identified as Bertrand. The deputy found that Bertrand was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Bertrand was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

Karen Ledet, 39, 258 Murial Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA was arrested on November 5, 2016 at 1:38 am for domestic abuse battery. Deputies responded to a complaint of a domestic battery that occurred in a vehicle on Highway 90 in Amelia. Deputies located the vehicle and made contact with the subjects involved. During the course of the investigation, deputies found evidence that Ledet struck a male victim in the face repeatedly while he was driving a vehicle. The victim sustained a bloody nose during the battery. Ledet was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,500. 

Kord Atkinson, 30, 123 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 5, 2016 at 8:22 pm for license plate lights required and driving with a suspended license.

Nicole Atkinson, 31, 123 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 5, 2016 at 8:44 pm on a warrant for direct contempt, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license on person, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to honor written promise to appear.

A deputy working in Bayou Vista observed a vehicle driving on Highway 182 with no license plate lights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, K. Atkinson, and a passenger, N. Atkinson. While speaking with the occupants of the car, the deputy found that K. Atkinson was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and that N. Atkinson had an active warrant for arrest. K. Atkinson was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017. N. Atkinson was transported to the parish jail for booking. N. Atkinson was released on a $360 bail.

Michael Hills, 56, 1714 E. Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA was arrested on November 5, 2016 at 8:50 pm for no turn signals, no driver’s license, and no insurance. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to properly signal a turn onto US Highway 90 at LA Highway 318. The deputy made contact with the driver, Hills, and found that he was operating the car without a driver’s license and without vehicle insurance. Hills was released on a summons to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

Eldridge Gibson, 29, 129 Collins Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on November 5, 2016 at 8:53 pm for the following offenses: 

  • Possession of Schedule II (cocaine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule II (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana), 2nd offense
  • St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for domestic abuse battery

A deputy went to Collins Street in Baldwin to locate Gibson who was wanted on an active warrant from St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. The deputy observed Gibson at the corner of the Collins Street and Bollard Street took him into custody. During the arrest, the deputy located cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax pills and marijuana on Gibson. The deputy transported Gibson to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Devin Stansbury, 25, 411 Carol Road, Apt. B, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 5, 2016 at 11:38 pm for the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule III (oxycodone)
  • Possession of Schedule IV (Xanax)
  • Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Legend Drug (promethazine) without a prescription
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
  • Possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor

Deputies responded to a complaint of possible illegal drug activity taking place at a residence Carol Road in Bayou Vista. Deputies made contact with Stansbury at his residence. While speaking with Stansbury, deputies received consent to search the apartment and located marijuana, oxycodone pills, Xanax pills, promethazine pills, and various items of drug paraphernalia. Two young children were at the residence at the time of the investigation. Stansbury’s residence is located near a park and church. Stansbury was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Steven Morris, 30, 115 Doris Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on November 6, 2016 at 9:43 am for violation of protective orders, 3rd offense. A deputy responded to a report of a subject violating a protective order at a residence in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy found Morris at the residence in violation of the court order to stay away from the location. The deputy also found that Morris had violated the orders on two other occasions. Morris was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Willie J. Johnlouis, Jr., 29, 401 Ira Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 6, 2016 at 7:10 pm for do driver’s license, possession of Schedule I (marijuana) 2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on LA Highway 182 near Moresei Road in Jeanerette. The deputy located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Johnlouis. While speaking with Johnlouis and another occupant of the car, the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a burnt marijuana cigarette. The deputy also found that Johnlouis was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. Johnlouis was transported to the parish jail for booking. Johnlouis was released on a $3,250 bond.

Jerry Cross, 60, 130 Natalie Lane, #69, Patterson, LA was arrested on November 6, 2016 at 10:31 pm for improper lane usage and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. A deputy observed a vehicle stopped in a lane of travel on LA Highway 182 in Garden City. The deputy then observed the vehicle drive at a slow rate of speed across the centerline on multiple occasions. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Cross. The deputy observed that Cross was swaying back and forth where he stood. While speaking with Cross, the deputy learned that he had consumed several beers. The deputy conducted a field sobriety test. Cross performed the test poorly. Cross later registered a 0.109 grams percent blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. The deputy transported Cross to the parish jail for booking. Cross was released on a $2,750 bond.
