A deputy monitoring traffic in the construction zone on Highway 90 in Jeanerette yesterday morning observed a vehicle speeding 67 miles per hour in the posted 55 miles per hour construction zone. The deputy stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver identified as Jack. During the traffic stop investigation, the deputy found that license plate on the vehicle had been switched and that the plate had been reported stolen. The deputy also found that Jack was operating the vehicle without a valid driver's license, insurance, or vehicle inspection. Jack was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $1,750.

Eddie L. Brown, IV, 43, 1307 Joseph Street, Siracusa, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 11:18 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of distribution of cocaine. While patrolling Amelia, a deputy received information that Brown was at his residence and located him there on the warrants. Brown was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

Melvin Thibodeaux, 47, 1423 James Street, Siracusa, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 10:44 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of cocaine. A deputy located Thibodeaux at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. Thibodeaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set.

Stephen Boyd, Jr., 28, 341 Ratcliff Lane, Ricohoc, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 12:30 pm for illegal possession of stolen things and criminal trespass. On November 26, 2016, deputies began an investigation into a report of a stolen 4-wheeler from a residence in Ricohoc. After receiving information about the stolen ATV's whereabouts, a detective developed Boyd as a suspect. Deputies located Boyd walking on US Highway 90 in Ricohoc and subsequently located the stolen 4-wheeler in a sugarcane field off Highway 182 in the Centerville area. Deputies found evidence that Boyd rode the ATV on the private property and that he had attempted to sell it. Boyd was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set. The ATV was returned to the owner.

April L. Aucoin, 36, 148 Cremo Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 4:17 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference. A correctional officer transported Aucoin from the Assumption Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Bail is set at $100,000.

Michael Wilkerson, 25, 214 Mars Road, Apt. #1, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on January 18, 2017 at 9:01 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace. A deputy encountered Wilkerson during a traffic stop on Mars Road and located the active warrant for his arrest. Wilkerson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $500.
