Surveillance Leads To Church Point Man’s Arrest

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Church Point man this week after there was a traffic violation stop.

Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux says that officials began investigating David Dinel Thibodeaux of Church Point, and there was already an a warrant out for his arrest.

After he was pulled over, deputies with the Narcotics Team found cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, many pills, cash and a 40-caliber handgun along with ammunition.

Thibodeaux is now facing multiple drug and weapons charges.

The three people who were in Thibodeaux's car were all let go after Thibodeaux claimed ownership of the drugs, money and gun.

The man was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail
